I was enthusiastic when the founder of Flight Inspiration suggested that I design their Aircraft Skin Keychains made from authentic aircraft parts.

Since childhood, I’ve been captivated by the adventures of aviation airmail pioneers, namely the ones of Mermoz, Saint-Exupéry and Guillaumet... The stories of these heroes have accompanied me, made me vibrate, and nourished my imagination. With this collaboration, I immerse myself in the making of modern planes, more technical, but still mythical.

With this project, my goal is to let the material tell its own story. I work with the physicality of the metal parts, and aim to magnify the aircraft’s scars through design and illustration. The raw components feature scratches, a wear-and-tear that testifies to an eventful past. The graphic universe created for the Aircraft Skin Keychains and their support uses the visual elements of aviation: stencil typefaces in contours or full shape, damaged paint, metal and rivet photos.
